- Abstract
The article presents a perspective on the exchange of letters between Léon Gambetta and Léonie Léon between 1872 and 1882. The correspondence provides a rich example of epistolary romance, expressing sexual and emotional passion. The letters were a written conversation sharing a mutual interest in literature, politics and current affairs.
