- Abstract
The article discusses foreign relations between the U.S. and Pakistan as of 2012, noting U.S. distrust of Pakistan due to support for Taliban militants in and near Afghanistan by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency. Topics include U.S. aid foreign funds given to Pakistan, the 2011 U.S. assassination of militant leader Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan, and Pakistani support for the militant Haqqani network in Afghanistan. Also noted are the opinions of U.S. diplomats regarding Pakistan, the development of linguistic expertise by Western intelligence agencies, and the supply routes of U.S. armed forces in Afghanistan.
