Numerous marble lion statues, which were located in various corners of Ankara during 1920-30's, are gathered together at certain places today. Considering that the lion figure is used to symbolize power and reign throughout the history, determining where these lions stood in Ankara and which buildings they protected during the Roman era will contribute to the efforts to plot the city plan of Roman Ankara. This article aims to draw the attention of academics to this interesting subject, who deal with the history of Ankara.
