- Abstract
The article discusses a new technique called the edge of laminar block (ELB) as an alternative to thoracic paravertebral block (TPVB) for providing analgesia during percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) surgery. The ELB involves injecting local anesthetics at the lateral edge of the lamina, which prevents complications like pneumothorax. The article presents a case series of ten patients who received ELB after general anesthesia for PCNL surgery, and the results showed good analgesia and no block-related complications. The authors suggest that ELB could be a promising alternative to TPVB, but further investigation is needed to establish its efficacy and safety.
