- Abstract
This article explores the potential of berberine-phytantriol liquid crystalline nanoparticles as a targeted drug therapy for non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). NSCLC is the most common form of lung cancer and is caused by factors such as smoking, pollutants, and genetics. The current treatments for NSCLC have limitations in terms of toxicity and safety. The study found that the nanoparticles inhibited cell proliferation and metastasis in an in vitro model of NSCLC by downregulating proteins associated with tumor growth and metastasis and upregulating a protein involved in apoptosis. These findings suggest that the nanoparticles have the potential to be used as a therapeutic treatment for NSCLC.
