- Authors
Hernández, F. Rivera
- Abstract
The author reflects on the treatment of corticosteroid-resistant idiopathic focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), defined as increased obliteration in the mesangial matrix. The author mentions the study by A. Segarra and colleagues on the use of steroids and Cyclosporin A (CsA). An overview of the use of several drugs including mycophenolate mofetil, rituximab, and tacrolimus is offered. The author suggests the need to continue to research to improve the efficacy of FSGS treatment.
