Glucose homeostasis and the kidney.
Abstract
The article discusses on the complex role of kidney in glucose homeostasis. In a study conducted it was said that the role of kidney in glucose homeostasis can be accounted for both hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia in advance renal failure. Likewise, it was mentioned that among the most important factors that determine if plasma glucose reaches abnormally high or low values are nutritional status, magnitude of caloric intake and drug administration.
