- Title
Understanding Chiari-like malformation: where are we now?
- Authors
Gonçalves, Rita
- Abstract
The article reports on Chiari-like malformation (CM) in about 95% of Cavalier King Charles spaniels (CKCS). It describes Type 1 CM malformations as a development failure of the occipital bone, which leads to occipital hypoplasia. It references a study by Upchurch et al in this issue of "Veterinary Record," in which the authors aimed at investigating the effect of the positioning of the dog's head during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) on the severity of CM, of which little is known up to now.
