- Abstract
In this article the author discusses the importance of clinical decision making before considering euthanasia in animal patients. He states that overtreatment and undertreatment can be avoided by evaluating patient's interests and making clinical decisions. He notes that errors can be avoided by having empathy and preventing personal bias. He also mentions that veterinarians should have client-focused motivations and not provide services that are contrary to patient's best interests.
