- Title
FAB takes a stand against breeding for extreme phenotypes in cats.
- Abstract
The article reports on the study conducted by Claudia Schlueter and colleagues pertaining to the problems caused by the breeding of cats for extreme conformations in Berlin, Germany. The study shows that the greater the degree of branchycephalia, the more the facial bones and upper canine teeth are displaced dorsally. The Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB) infers that it is time to a take a firm stand against breeding of extreme types where the health and welfare of the cat is compromised.
