The article offers poetry criticism of the poetic work "Viaje del Parnaso," by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. It examines the theme of empire in the work, focusing on the paradox between the concepts of empire and poetics as depicted by Cervantes. It analyzes the poem's depiction of the politics of the Hapsburg empire, the social and political aspects of Spain in the 17th century, and the mythical creatures Scylla and Charybdis.
