- Abstract
The article explores the incorporation of light and lighting in wedding photography in East Africa. Emphasis is given to topics such as the social aspects of Islam in Kenya, the religious and aesthetic aspects of light, and the ritual context of flashing and glittering dresses for brides in Muslim weddings. Other topics include the sending of photographs to relatives and the visibility of women.
