- Abstract
The article presents a study that tested the hypothesis that umbilical artery pH levels greater than or equal to 7 are correlated with adult intelligence. The data failed to show an association between umbilical artery and adult intelligence in a large series of male Caucasians. The study argues against any long-term negative effects of low normal umbilical arterial pH levels.
