- Abstract
The article focuses on the efforts of the government in developing ethical clinical trial practices in India. The initiative was due to a series of revelations about instances of unethical clinical trial practices in the country, in which the Indian Department of Health Research addressed through promoting harsher penalties to violators. The proposed regulation bars a company from conducting further trials due to its failure to pay compensation in the event of adverse effect or death.
