- Abstract
The article focuses on several studies related to safety and effectiveness of cochlear implantation in elderly. Topics discussed include safety of anesthesia in elderly patients of cochlear implantation, lack of age difference in surgical complications and postoperative performance between elderly and young patients, no difference in speech perception scores between the two groups and early improvement of speech performance in younger patients.
