- Abstract
It is aimed to analyze emotion regulation and interpersonal problem solving skills of preschool children in this study. The study consists of 6-year-old children attending official kindergartens, nursery schools, private kindergartens, and day-care centers affiliated to the Ministry of Education which are located in the city center of Konya. The general scanning method has been used in the research. The research data have been collected through the "Interpersonal Problem Solving Scale" developed by Özdil and Koruklu (2008), the "Emotional Regulation Skills Scale" developed by Altan and Yağmurlu (2010), and the Personal Information Form created by the researchers. As a result of the research; it has been found that there is a significant difference in emotional regulation and interpersonal problem-solving skills of preschool children in terms of gender and number of siblings variables. In addition, a positive correlation has been found between emotional regulation levels and interpersonal problem-solving skills of preschool children. In this case, as emotion regulation levels increase, interpersonal problem-solving skills also increase. As a result of the regression analysis, emotion regulation explains 37% of the total variance in interpersonal problem-solving skills.
