- Abstract
The article presents a case of neonatal small left colon syndrome (SLCS). A premature baby of 2.15 kg vomited bile-stained fluid 8 hours after birth. The SLCS is a clinical condition presenting shortly after birth. Common symptoms are large bowel obstruction and a characteristic barium enema appearance. The clinical course may vary from mild symptoms to severe obstructions with colonic perforation. The most important factor in these cases is the degree of immaturity of enteric neurons.
