- Title
The Medical Home Grows Up.
- Authors
Esdall, Robert
- Abstract
The author reflects on the various problems facing the medical home model concept of the U.S. primary medical care system. He contends that the medical home lacks the National Committee for Quality Assurance's (NCQA) rules, making it at risk to be robbed by some referral specialties and exposed to a number of community-acquired diseases. He asserts that aside from the difficulty of do-it yourself medical home construction, the concept is also at risks to be co-opted, misconstrued or distorted.
