- Abstract
The article presents a historical account of events surrounding the first impeachment trial in South Dakota and the conviction of Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg, who struck and killed pedestrian Joe Boever. Topics discussed are impeachment procedures and requirements under Article XVI of the South Dakota Constitution, House votes for articles of impeachment, rules of impeachment under Senate Resolution 702, and evidence of guilt and second degree manslaughter against Ravnsborg.
