- Abstract
The patient was started on oral amoxicillin/clavullanic acid 625 mg twice a day, topical nasal decongestants and analgesics. The major criteria for diagnosis include facial pain, facial congestion, nasal obstruction, nasal or postnasal purulence, hyposmia and fever. Treatment includes nasal decongestants, such as xylometazoline or pseudoephedrine, steam inhalation; antibiotics, such as amoxicillin are used when a bacterial infection is suspected [[1]].
