- Abstract
The article argues that the First Amendment's Establishment Clause does not suspend free speech and free exercise rights as reinforced by the ruling of the U.S. Supreme Court in Kennedy v. Bremerton. The court opined that football coach Joseph Kennedy, who was fired for praying post-games at the middle of the field, is protected by free exercise and free speech clauses. It suggests the potential of the ruling to expand free speech rights of public school teachers and government employees.
