COMMITTEE RA33—COLORFAST-NESS TO ATMOSPHERIC CONTAMINANTS.
- Abstract
The article offers information on the significance of the Committee RA33, a commission organized by the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) that studies and evaluates the factors in atmospheric exposure that cause color changes of fabrics. The commission was tasked to develop test methods for measuring color changes that correlate with end use. The contaminants that greatly impacted fabrics include oxides of nitrogen, ozone, sulfur dioxide and products of hydrocarbon combustion.
