- Abstract
This research deals with developing mathematical logical reasoning in the students of the Eighth Year of Basic General Education of the Educational Unit «April 23» of the Santa Fe parish of the Guaranda canton, Bolívar province, Ecuador; mainly detecting the lack of sequential and systematic content, the lack of playful and motivational stimulation, and the inadequate method applied during the teaching-learning process. Through a research methodology with a quantitative approach, it was possible to demonstrate the presence of procedural errors, lack of interest in learning, educational superficiality and the difficulty of solving problems in students as the main consequences in cognition processes., thus coming to correlate and verify that the poor level of mathematical logical reasoning does affect the teaching-learning process in students at this school age. As a conclusion, the skills and enhancing the reasoning skills focused on the aspects: logical, numerical and abstract at a high level were evidenced, and in this way, that they have the possibility of giving reliable and exact solutions to the problems of everyday life that they will have to face.
