- Abstract
The article focuses on whether liberalization of U.S. trade and allowing Brazilian ethanol to penetrate the U.S. market could strengthen and reinvigorate U.S. domestic economy and international relations. Revitalization has come to Brazilian economy in the strong oil, mining and agricultural sectors particularly in sugar-based ethanol biofuel production. It notes the proposal of Brazil to revisit the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) platform called "Miami Declaration," the potential for direct investments in the U.S. and U.S. subsidies system.
