- Title
Irbesartan did not reduce cardio events in atrial fibrillation patients.
- Abstract
The article reports on a study which found that angiotensin-receptor blocker irbesartan did not reduce risk of cardiovascular events in atrial fibrillation patients. It references the paper "Irbesartan in patients with atrial fibrillation," by S. Yusuf and colleagues that appeared in "New England Journal of Medicine." The study also found that more patients in the irbesartan group had symptomatic hypotension and renal dysfunction as compared to the placebo group.
