- Abstract
The author of the article discusses the practicality of applying marketing models in the nonprofit and social sectors. He claims that marketing is being applied in nonprofit settings but in a piecemeal fashion, rendering the marketing ineffective. Marketing experts have pointed out the related problems that marketing may not be a successful contribution to the nonprofit and social sectors because nonprofit managers adopt only fragments of the marketing model, leading him to conclude that nonprofit people are different from private sector people because they are not marketing-oriented and do not think like marketers.
