- Abstract
The removal of chlorine from zinc smelting wastewater by acidification, adsorption and alkali washing with bismuth oxide as dechlorination agent was studied. The results show that under the conditions of temperature of 40 ℃, bismuth oxide content of 10 times the amount of chloride, initial solution pH of 1.5 and reaction time of 1 h, the removal rate of chlorine is 93.37%, and the residual chlorine mass concentration in wastewater is 24.85 mg/L. Dechlorination from chlorine aspirate residue by alkali washing, the dechlorination rate is 93.64% and the chloride mass concentration in alkali washing solution is 20.07 g/L under the conditons of temperature of 90 ℃, NaOH mass concentrtion of 80 g/L, reaction time of 60 min and liquid volume/solid mass of 5/1. The bismuth compound after dechlorination can be reused by acidification. The process actually consumes only sodium hydroxide and has low production cost and simple operation.
