CHATGPT AND SPECIALIZED CONVERSATIONAL AIS: WHICH ONE FITS THE BILL FOR THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY?
- Authors
Akade, E.; Jalilian, S.
- Abstract
Conversational AI (CAI) systems are AI-powered platforms that can engage in human-like conversations with users through natural language. In the medical field, a specialized CAI for medical information and research has the potential to provide immediate and accurate medical information to patients and healthcare providers, allowing for more efficient healthcare delivery and reducing the burden on healthcare professionals. Present-day general CAI systems, such as OpenAI's ChatGPT, have significant limitations in meeting the demands of the medical and scientific communities. Developing and maintaining a specialized CAI for medical information comes with significant costs, and there is also a risk of inaccuracy and unreliability associated with general CAIs. However, a specialized CAI for medical information and research can be trained on unbiased data, ensuring that the information provided is fair and equitable. As technology continues to advance, the development of a specialized CAI for medical information and research will become increasingly important in the delivery of high-quality, personalized healthcare.
