- Abstract
The article presents legal developments in marketing relating to the regulation of competition. Regarding price discrimination, the case Hanson Paint & Glass Co. v. Pittsburgh Plate Glass Industries, Inc. is discussed, alleging violations of the Robinson-Patman Act by engaging in price discrimination. The case Lucky Breweries Inc. v. Theodore Hamm and Heublein, Inc. is discussed, also alleging violations of the Robinson-Patman Act. A case involving Foremost-McKesson, Inc. is also discussed, in which the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) prohibited the company from violating the FTC Act by knowingly inducing or receiving discriminatory promotional payments or services and offering anticompetitive inducements in connection with its annual trade shows.
