- Title
The Danish Cartoon Affair: Free Speech, Racism, Islamism, and Integration.
- Authors
Modood, Tariq; Hansen, Randall; Bleich, Erik; O'Leary, Brendan; Carens, Joseph H.
- Abstract
The article presents several views regarding the infamous Danish cartoons satirizing the Prophet Mohammad that was featured in the newspaper "Jyllands-Posten." One author contends that those cartoons do not lie in an attempt to offer contemporary comment but the desire to illustrate a children's book. Another writer offers a robust defense of the right to free expression that rejects the notion that Islam and the West are split by any immutable differences of principle.
