The article discusses the history of insurgency by interlinked Zionist militia groups Haganah and the Palmach, Irgun and Lehi in Palestine which helped end the British rule in the country. Topics include the struggle of the British to rule Palestine in the years between 1945 and the formation of Israel in 1948, the strict restrictions placed by Britain on Jewish refugees in Palestine after it was mandated by the League of Nations to govern Palestine, and how the militia groups were formed.
