- Abstract
Providing excellent person-centered care requires feedback on the impact of programs, services, and the care environment on persons with dementia. Quality of life is a critical outcome measure of person-centered care for person with dementia. A number of dementia-specific quality-of-life measures exist. The article describes an observational method that is reliable, valid, and practical for use in a variety of dementia care settings, and the benefits of using this method, which includes data entry via an iPod Touch and wireless transmission of quality of life data to a website, from which one can download thirteen practice-enhancing reports.
