- Abstract
The article examines the first 14 verses of Genesis 43 that details the transition from the brothers' first trip to Egypt to the forthcoming second trip. It states that the narrative devices are given focus to understand the characters' actions and the plot's development. It notes that the first part of the second verse notes that the family of Jacob consumed all the supply of grain that has been brought home from Egypt.
