- Abstract
The article looks at legal challenges to uniform rules of the eligibility requirements for sports competitions and athletes in the U.S. It references the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in the case Martin v. Professional Golfers Association. The legal protection of honest competitions through sports bribery, rigging and tampering, and gambling laws is discussed, as well as the power of a professional sports league commissioner to maintain on-field competitive balance.
