AMS, Habitat for Humanity Offer Attendees Opportunity to Help Region Rebuild.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the economic aid that the attendees of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) may provide during its annual meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 22-24, 2008. It has been said that the Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization which has been building houses for insufficient family since 1976 had been offering the visitors to volunteer a three days construction of houses in the state. It is mentioned that the AMS was being scheduled ahead the time when hurricane Katrina had devastated New Orleans and added that the event in January would be a unique exploration on the intersection of science and community.
