- Abstract
The paper seeks to explore the importance of the total quality management implementation in the higher education sector. The importance of education and knowledge contributes directly to the social and economic development of a country. Ensuring the development in this direction means understanding the specific mechanisms of academic quality assurance and improvement, but also the existence of a good strategy in order to achieve performance. The total quality management system is a strategic architecture, which requires the evaluation and continuos improvement of all processes (Pour & Yeshodhara, 2009). Based on input and output factors, the implementation of a total quality management system leads to improved internal processes, to increased motivation and satisfaction of internal and external customers, but also to better quality results.
