- Abstract
This article discusses the presidential elections of 2006 and 2012 in Mexico. The author comments on the presidential candidates for each of these races, including their personal ideological positions, perceived competences, and relative political and personal qualities. He also considers the political party system of Mexico, including the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) the Partido de Acción Nacional (PAN), and the Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD). A comparative analysis of the political systems and elections of other Latin American countries is also provided.
