- Title
Erasmus, Exchange Value and Euronormativity in Cédric Klapisch's L'Auberge espagnole and Les Poupées russes.
- Authors
McCaffrey, Enda; Pratt, Murray
- Abstract
The article focuses on the attempts made by director Cédric Klapisch to transform the French national identity to a transnational in his films "L'Auberge espagnole," and "Les Poupées russes." It describes how Klapisch reinforces the representations of French national identity in the form of republican universalism and exceptionalism, while praising European integration and socio-cultural values of the university Erasmus exchange programme, thus weakening the Erasmus vision.
