- Abstract
The article focuses on the microfinance culture and money trade in Corfu Island, Greece from 17th to 19th century. It says that credit service providers were traditionally Christians and Jewish money lenders. It mentions the three types of interest rates which are lending rates, deposit and borrowing interest rates. It discusses the traditional role of Mdp of Corfu as mediator acting between savers and borrowers, public auctions, and the relation of income and expenses.
