- Title
Do Economists Reach A Conclusion on Road Pricing? The Intellectual History of an Idea.
- Authors
LINDSEY, ROBIN
- Abstract
The article discloses the history of toll roads, which have been common in the U.S. and Great Britain. Tolls were only applied by the British and U.S. governments in their railroads in 1920, although interest on toll roads had grown due to rising problems caused by increasing automobile purchases and traffic congestion. Various toll road systems have been implemented including the Value Pricing Pilot Program in the U.S. and the area-wide tolling in Great Britain.
