- Abstract
The article discusses the precession and trepidation of the equinox in Indian astronomy before between the second and fifth centuries. Topics discussed include the transmission of Greek astronomical and astrological theories to India, Indian ideas about the solstices relative to the naksatras, and theories of trepidation and precession according to several philosophers including Theon of Alexandria, Proclus and Hipparchus.
