- Title
Who Was that Masked Man? An Alexandrian Bronze.
- Authors
Hughes, Alan
- Abstract
The article provides information on the bronze statuette, a baboon-headed man, from the exhibition of Greek art at the Royal Ontario Museum in 1984. According to the author, the baboon masks are usual themes in the culture of Egypt. The mask covered the whole head, and it clearly stated that the bronze statuette resembles Greek art. It also discusses the costume of the statuette, the features of the mask, and the information on the baboon-headed statuette that suggests that it is classified as Greek art from Asia Minor and its identification as papio hamadryas.
