- Title
Microfluidic chips promise better diagnosis for sickle cell disease.
- Authors
Hersher, Rebecca
- Abstract
The article reports that the research group of David Wood and colleagues of Harvard University, and the research group by Wilbur Lam and colleagues of the Emory University School of Medicine demonstrates the use of microfluidic chips in sickle cell anemia diagnosis. It says that the two processes involves blood flow measurement in micro tubes to predict clot formation. Furthermore, microfluidic devices can also be used as a drug discovery platform.
