- Abstract
The article offers criticism on films of the New Romanian Cinema movement, including "The Death of Mr. Lăzărescu" directed by Cristi Puiu, "Morgen" directed by Marian Crişan, "Principles of Life" directed by Constantin Popescu, and "Loverboy" ditected by Cătălin Mitulescu. The author describes the themes of New Romanian Cinema, including the legacy of Communist rule in Romania, and uses literary critic Northrop Frye's idead to interpret the films.
