- Authors
Harvey, Jeffery Wayne
- Abstract
This article explores the concept of shared leadership in disaster management, challenging the traditional idea of centralized authority. It argues that allowing partners to have operational autonomy can lead to more effective disaster response and recovery. The article emphasizes the importance of a shared vision and active participation from all stakeholders in the preparedness phase. It also suggests that leaders should actively listen to and value the contributions of their partners. The article concludes by calling for further research on shared leadership in disaster management and the need to differentiate between emergencies and disasters in leadership approaches.
