- Title
KINDLE LAWSUIT SETTLED.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the move of the Arizona State University (ASU) to enter into a settlement with the American Council of the Blind (ACB) and the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) in January 2010 concerning a lawsuit filed by the consumer groups against its program to use the Kindle DX electronic book (e-book) reader. It cites the laws, which the groups claimed have been violated, as a result of inaccessibility to some features of the device. The university reportedly expressed its commitment to adopt devices that provide more access to blind students and offer programs for those with disabilities.
