- Abstract
The article presents information on a study regarding the selection and the organization of materials for consumer education in junior high schools in the United States. A study by researcher, Puzant Gabriel provided specific guidance in this respect. He sent questionnaires to 1000 teachers, who teach consumer education in public high schools. According to the study the supplementary materials were considered most effective for consumer education. Magazines and government publications are two kinds of supplementary materials used frequently for this purpose and that were proved more effective. The respondents rated that the magazines designed for health education was more effective materials. Among the women's magazines "Good Housekeeping" was rated highest. "Time" magazine is the most effective among the news magazines.
