The latter gradually receded and disappeared as the patient was treated with methimazole and β-adrenoceptor blocker, and the improvement deteriorated during a β-adrenoceptor challenge test. Our findings suggest that the pathogenesis of thyrotoxic chorea seems more likely to be of biochemical origin rather than due to structural changes in the basal ganglia. © 2003 Movement Disorder SocietyPublicationMovement Disorders, 2003, Vol 18, Issue 9, p1073ISSN0885-3185Publication typeArticleDOI10.1002/mds.10477
