- Abstract
The article discusses myofascial pain syndrome (MPS), which is a common cause of musculoskeletal pain. MPS is characterized by the presence of myofascial trigger points, which are hard nodules within skeletal muscles that cause pain and disability. Ultrasonography can be used to visualize these trigger points, particularly in the trapezius muscle. However, there is limited research on the use of ultrasonography for diagnosing MPS, especially in the interossei muscles of the foot. The article acknowledges the need for further investigation in this area and appreciates the opportunity to provide additional insights on MPS and its potential contribution to metatarsalgia.
