The article explores the relationship between Scandinavian saga literature and collective memory, with focus given to the "Íslendingasögur" and "biskupa sögur" saga genres. The author connects this relationship to such literary themes as intertextuality and narrative rhetoric within sagas. Focus is also given to the ways in which collective memory relies on media for its development and dissemination.
